Billing & Collections Coordinator (Full-Time) Los Alamitos, CA


Job Description:
The Billing & Collections Coordinator is responsible for managing the monetary settlement of patient accounts and will assist with the Revenue cycle. The Billing & Collections Coordinator is also responsible for creating and sending out detailed billing to client families for unpaid moneys due.
Responsibilities:
Full settlement of patient accounts
Keep detailed and updated reports
Effectively communicate to any party
Advising Manager and Lead about issues relating to payer trends
Assist with Revenue Cycle
Complete tasks/duties assigned by the Lead or Manager
Complete at least 80% of their assigned workload without assistance from team members and Manager
Qualifications:
Understanding of insurance terminology and inner workings of insurance companies
Calculate patient financial responsibility based on benefit review (i.e. able to understand how deductible, co-insurance, co-pays and maximum out of pockets work in determining patient responsibility)
Knowledge of full billing and profit cycle
Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word and Outlook)
Analytical and have the ability to collect and assess data
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written)
Have a minimum of two years' experience
Experience with Medi-Soft and/or BestNotes software, a plus
Experience with Facility Billing (UB-04) a plus
Experience billing and collecting at a mental health and/or substance abuse program/facility, also a plus
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
