, a national Environmental, Health and Safety consultancy founded in 1996, is hiring an Entry-Level Environmental Scientist to join our team in Los Alamitos, CA.
This position will start part-time at an hourly rate of $25 - $28 depending on experience.

This role is part of a team of Compliance Technicians, Specialists, and Project Managers integrally involved with client accounts/projects spanning diverse types of industries and compliance programs - providing the opportunity for all team members to engage with, and learn from, these expert-led services.
To facilitate familiarization to industry and compliance knowledge, in-person attendance is required in the office and in the field visiting industrial facilities and construction sites.
Once familiarization to the job has been established, this position can advance into a position that accommodates partial work from home.

Responsibilities:
Working on interesting, fast-paced projects with the opportunity to gain experience and expand skills.
Acquiring applicable qualifications through in-person and computer-based training related to compliance programs (paid for by WGR).
Conducting site visits at a variety of industrial facilities and construction sites to obtain a thorough understanding of operations and potential environmental, health, and/or safety concerns.
Assisting with interpreting data and preparing basic regulatory reports under the supervision of an experienced subject matter expert or project manager.
Assisting with research, technical writing, and program analysis under the supervision of an experienced subject matter expert or project manager including preparing written and graphic reports, scientific documents, and presentations.
Provide technical support to Compliance Technicians including performing routine inspections, preparing environmental sample kits in accordance with regulatory requirements (including handling small amounts of bottled hazardous chemicals), conducting environmental sampling (sometimes during inclement weather), and couriering samples and/or equipment.
Eventually establishing and maintaining open communication with points of contact at client facilities and contracted companies, including analytical laboratories and vendors.
Job Requirements:
Candidate should enjoy writing and have practiced skills in grammar, structure, and formatting either through education or previous work experience.
Working knowledge of MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to prioritize critical tasks and work well in a deadline-driven atmosphere.
Ability to communicate professionally in the written form.
Possess a desire to learn new concepts and new software applications.
Valid Driver's License.
Ability to exert moderate physical effort.
Pass a complete background check for those clients with secure facilities (paid for by WGR).
Minimum Requirements:
Working towards, or obtained, a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental, biology, chemistry, or related field.
